The half marathon (13.1 miles) begins and ends at West High School. The course travels down West Northern Lights Boulevard for 3 miles. It then follows the Tony Knowles Coastal Trail past Earthquake Park and Point Woronzof until around at mile 6.5. The course then follows a path to the Coastal Trail and then follows the Coastal Trail for 6 miles until it reaches Westchester Lagoon. The last mile follows the marathon course to a shared finish line. Both the Half Marathon and Five Miler begin together at 9:00 a.m. All participants must finish by 4:30 p.m. Nearly 2000 half-marathoners participated in 2009. Make sure you register early for this event as we do reach the 2000 capacity by mid May.
